posing naturally: couples

If you've poked around on my website, you've probably figured out that fake smiles and stiff postures make me CRINGE. Like I literally have a physical reaction. I can hone in on someone's body language in photos and know immediately if they are uncomfortable. All of my sessions are centered around movement and interaction. It's not hard, but it's also not a matter of standing across from your client and yelling casually, "Just act natural!" That doesn't work, trust me.

Over the years, I've learned how to help my clients feel comfortable in front of the camera, and authenticity is now the cornerstone of my business. More than anything else, I love teaching how to capture real emotion and natural movement to produce images that are authentic representations of the people in them.

To enroll in this class, you should have a good understanding of shooting in manual mode and feel comfortable with your camera. I would also strongly encourage that you have a portrait lens with an aperture of 1.8 or lower (examples include Canon or Nikon 50mm, 85mm, 35mm lenses).

This class includes a practice shoot with a couple in my backyard.
