i don't care so much about focus.

I've never bothered really with

perfect framing.

Clean lines and mannequin hugs?

You can keep them.

For light is what kills me. It's vulnerability that brings me to my knees. Give me movement; give me blur. I want grit. Rawness. I want tears on that face.

Laughs in those lines.

I don't know what I'm shooting before I start a session. I don't have a memorized list of pretty poses I saw on Pinterest this morning. I come present. I photograph YOU, as you are, right there in front of me. As YOU hug. As YOU kiss. As YOU embrace on the bed in your first apartment together. In the half light of a gritty New York City evening. In the only way you know how.

I can't promise you safe, clean, predictable images. But I can promise you you'll recognize the faces staring back at you on the screen. Because they're real. They're you, exactly as you are.

And I can't - and I won't - ever photograph anything other than just that.
